DC Bar Foundation: Citi Foreclosure Prevention and Community Redevelopment Grants Program
The District of Columbia (DC) Bar Foundation’s mission is to fund, support, and improve legal representation of the poor, vulnerable, and otherwise disadvantaged in the District of Columbia. The Foundation’s Citi Foreclosure Prevention and Community Redevelopment Grants Program is offering funding for foreclosure prevention and community redevelopment legal assistance provided by D.C.-based legal aid organizations that serve low-income residents. The Foundation will hold an information session regarding these grants on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Applicants must submit an executive summary and a narrative by April 8, 2016. Funds for Family, Environment, and Peace Programs in Oregon
Jubitz Family Foundation
The Jubitz Family Foundation supports nonprofit organizations in Oregon that strive to strengthen families, respect the natural environment, and foster peace. The Foundation’s specific areas of interest include early childhood development and education, with an emphasis on at-risk children; environmental stewardship, with an emphasis on rivers and their watershed ecosystems; and peacemaking activities, with an emphasis on teaching peace and conflict resolution. Grants generally range from $2,000 to $10,000. The deadlines for online letters of inquiry are January 1 and July 1, 2016. Visit the Foundation’s website to learn more about the application process.
Grants Enhance Breast Cancer Education and Treatment in Minnesota
Susan G. Komen Minnesota: Community Grants
Susan G. Komen Minnesota is dedicated to bettering the lives of those facing breast cancer throughout the state. The Community Grants program provides support for innovative programs in the areas of breast health and breast cancer education, screening, diagnosis, treatment support, survivorship, and healthcare delivery/systems change, especially among those who are disproportionately affected by this disease. Grants of up to $75,000 are available. (Requests for the purchase of breast cancer screening or diagnostic equipment may not exceed $5,000.) Nonprofit organizations, including educational institutions, government agencies, and Indian tribes are eligible to apply. Applying organizations must provide services in the state of Minnesota. The application process must be initiated by December 4, 2015; the application deadline is January 8, 2016. Support for Youth Programs in the Oklahoma Region
The Kerr Foundation
The Kerr Foundation primarily provides support to nonprofit organizations in Oklahoma; however, the Foundation also considers requests from organizations in the surrounding states of Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, and Texas, as well as organizations located in Washington, DC. The Foundation offers grants to organizations that provide new or enhanced opportunities, particularly for youth, which address the following areas of interest: education, health, cultural development, and community services. Grants generally range from $1,000 to $50,000. The upcoming application deadline is January 15, 2016. Applications for the American Cancer Society’s training grants are now available. Doctoral grants support the training of graduate students on research related to oncology. Master’s level grants are awarded to institutions to support the training of second-year master’s degree students to provide psychosocial services to persons with cancer and their families. Beginning in July 2012, the grant term will be two years with annual funding of $12,000 (trainee award of $10,000 and $2,000 for faculty professional development). These grants are renewable.
