Princeton Theological Seminary celebrates the Fall Diversity Colloquia on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. This is an event that is open to the public and of which we welcome. A collaborative venture between the signature PTS Navigating the Waters Initiatives and our Urban Ministry Initiatives, we seek to provide a forum for dialogue that will incite inquiry and action.
Our guest facilitator will be Dr. Jacqui Lewis, Senior Pastor of the Middle Collegiate Church in New York City. Drawing from Dr. Jacqui Lewis’ insight as a pastor, scholar, community organizer, and urban prophet, this Diversity Colloquia seeks to expose how hardscrabble poverty and the pernicious effect of racism distort families and communities. In Race, Reconciliation, Justice – A New Narrative, the Colloquia will examine the impact of current circumstances of oppression and privilege that undermine the dignity of God’s creation. We will explore practices that engage imagination and respect people with their particular stories and realities. This event is free to the public. We will have two sessions from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. & 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The venue will be the Mackay Center’s Main Lounge.
